Clay-limestone with traces of sandstone.
Whole berry fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 15/20 days at controlled temperature, followed by post-fermentation maceration.
Aging: 30% in French oak barriques with medium-light toast, 70%
in stainless steel tanks for 9 months.
Appearance: Clear and intense with violet reflections;
Nose: The signature of this grape variety on clay soils is the typical notes of violet and small
wild flowers accompanied by light spicy hints and red fruit;
Taste: Enveloping and refined at the same time. Balanced and elegant with a persistent aroma of red fruits on the retro-nasal;
Palate: Silky and well-integrated astringency that contributes to the wine's persistence in the mouth.
Mother Clay
Argilla Madre is born from the clays of the Volturno vineyard. A magical garden, just over one hectare in size, located on the slopes of a plateau overlooking Mount Taburno and the confluence of the Volturno and Calore Irpino rivers.
Obtained through ethical and sustainable practices, it is our guarantee for an entirely artisanal product that aims for high quality.
Produced in a limited edition of 1494 bottles, all numbered on the label's tab.
Argilla Madre is a living wine. Perfect and imperfect, enveloping and warm. Dry, rough yet soft in its evolution.
The depiction of red clay on the label warms and tarnishes the perfect image of metal. The grooves and streaks in the depiction emphasize the imperfection of the material and the continuous evolution of the wine.
